Access to healthcare remains one of the greatest challenges for many rural communities in Baringo North. Long distances to health facilities, inadequate medical equipment, and the inability to afford healthcare often place vulnerable families at significant risk. TOKEI FOUNDATION has worked to Strengthen Community Healthcare by investing in infrastructure, essential medical resources, and healthcare access.
At Kasisit Health Centre in Saimo Kipsaraman Ward, through TOKEI FOUNDATION, a modern maternity wing was constructed to provide expectant mothers with a safe and dignified place to deliver their babies. Previously, many women travelled long distances while in labour to access maternity services, exposing both mothers and newborns to unnecessary risks. The new maternity wing has brought lifesaving services closer to the community, improving maternal and child health outcomes.
At Kapkiamo Dispensary in Kabartonjo Ward, TOKEI FOUNDATION donated hospital beds and mattresses to improve patient comfort and enable healthcare workers to provide quality medical care.
The Foundation sponsored one-year Social Health Authority (SHA) health insurance cover for vulnerable elderly residents in Barwesa Ward, ensuring they can access quality healthcare within and beyond Baringo County without financial hardship. In Saimo Soi Ward, a vulnerable woman was similarly enrolled in SHA for one year, easing the burden of medical expenses and allowing her family to focus on rebuilding their lives with dignity.
