Baringo North is a land of remarkable beauty and resilient people. Yet many communities continue to face significant challenges from dangerous river crossings and fire disasters to insecurity, food shortages, and inadequate public infrastructure. These realities affect daily life, limit economic opportunities, and place vulnerable families at constant risk. Our mission as Tokei Foundation has been simple: to work alongside communities to restore dignity, improve safety, and create lasting solutions where they are needed most. Every project represents more than bricks, timber, concrete, or steel. It represents lives protected, families restored, children kept safe, and communities empowered to build a better future.
For many years, livestock and people were at risk of falling into the steep Simmot Waterfall. The absence of a protective barrier resulted in frequent accidents involving goats, cattle, and community members. Through TOKEI FOUNDATION, a secure perimeter fence was constructed around the waterfall, significantly reducing these risks and protecting both livelihoods and human life.
These bridges have transformed daily life by providing safe, reliable access throughout the year.
Several villages in Baringo North relied on dangerous river crossings, especially during the rainy season when rivers became impassable. To restore safe movement and improve access to schools, healthcare, markets, and essential services, through TOKEI FOUNDATION, bridges were constructed at:
During heavy rains, the Kiptilingon River frequently burst its banks, flooding nearby homes and farmland. TOKEI FOUNDATION facilitated the Construction of culverts that has helped regulate water flow, reducing flooding risks and protecting families, property, and agricultural livelihoods.
Kalabata Dam in Kinyach Village posed a serious danger, particularly to children living nearby. Through TOKEI FOUNDATION, a perimeter fence was installed around the dam, creating a safer environment and helping prevent accidental drownings.
